WheelChair Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Hello Nice Persons! I have a major problem in my controls is missing "engines start" command is not there and I cannot start the engines and they won't start individualy either and that command is there. The engines do run when you start a mission from air. Win 7 64 bit and tried 32 bit as well as redownloaded multiple times from both ftp & http servers with av software turned off. any assistance would be much appreciated... Wheels

Wheels There is no engine start command, per se. The engines start when the APU is on and the throttle is moved from off to idle. By default, I believe the bindings are R Alt + Home for the left engine and R Ctrl + Home for the right one. And yes, make sure your throttles are all the way off before trying to move them to idle - they won't move otherwise. You might even need to recalibrate them or add a little deadzone at the end to make sure they get all the way to zero. DCS Wiki! :book:
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted May 5, 2011 ED Team Posted May 5, 2011 See picture. Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil. WheelChair Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Thanx for the replies guys~! Something is amiss here...lol I have a command in my controls menu in version 1.1.0.7 and it reads "EngineS Start" right under the commands for starting each engine separately. But my buddy that I wrote this for has one just like your picture without the "EngineS Start" in it. He put up another keyboard and gave the Right Windows + Home keys a push and viola they started right up (after the clicks and buttons in the suto start go). I am attempting to attach a photo of my controls menu so you can see for yourself and maybe we can find out why everyone doesn't have that same setup. Thanx again for the replies! nomdeplume Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I think your input configuration might not be quite right - what versions have you been through and which patches did you use? You might want to try moving the keyboard.lua file in C:\Users\your-username\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Config\Input\A-10C\keyboard to a different location and then start up the sim and go into the controls screen. That should give you the default keybindings. If that doesn't work, maybe try moving the whole 'input' folder somewhere else - you'll lose all your customisations but you should get the standard configuration back. I think the 'Engines start' and 'Engines stop' are the old names for the 'cheat' auto-start/stop procedure, which is now named 'Start procedure' and 'Stop procedure'.
