bloomstomb Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I remember it was easy to do in blackshark. I would like to make tad map north up (instead of up being whatever direction my heading is). Is this doable? I just want to be able to read the map thats on the tad basically.
Cibit Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Yes it is possible. The china hat switch is the one to use. It gives various TAD "maps" including pointing it north:) Sorry for not being more :)specific 1 i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
zamboni Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 If you select the tad and do china hat forward short, it cycles from NORM to EXP 1, second press goes to EXP 2, and then back to NORM with the third press. Both the EXP 1, and EXP 2 modes are oriented with North up....but the map does not follow your plane, you have to slew the map manually. You can zoom in and out with the DMS up and down (short) keys to get a wider FOV
Bahger Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 In the default TAD screen, north is indicated by a small triangular caret on one of the range circles. Otherwise, as Zamboni says, use EXP1 and 2, they are very useful for maneuvering the map away from your own a/c position when needed. 1
bloomstomb Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) Whats the difference between exp1 and exp2? Only thing I could see at a first glance is one you can zoom out further, and stinks that nose up is 5m maximum zoomout and exp1 2 are 1km and 2km maximum zoomouts.. but still extremely usefull.
