What if update ???

If the new update appears (1.1.0.8) which files do I have to backup to keep my log and personal score so I can place them back after the update ???

Ppersonal files are saved to a folder outside the installation folder. So it should be safe. It's in "my saved games" or something similar

For reasons that don't need explaining I had to remove and reinstall A-10 last night and, as it should have, it did not touch the saved data which (on Win 7) is in C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog. Your tracks, created missions, control and game configurations are all stored here.

 

The only things you might have to back up is if you have modified any of the monitor or view setup, or changed the viewport exports, then those files will definately need backing up since they are in the product install directory and might be replaced by a patch.

I am working in XP and don't have such a map or file in c:/. My installation is in D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C and there I have a map called "DCS Warthog" with maps as config / logs / MissionEditor /Missions /Movies and Tracks. Are these the maps I have to backup to keep my personals settings ???

I don't recall where XP puts stuff but if you go to Options>Controls and then click on one of the key or joystick cells. Then select Save Profile at the top. The dialog that opens should show you the path to where your stuff is being saved. Hope that helps.
