JCav Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 It seems to be somewhat difficult to find your version number inside the game. On the splash screen of the main menu, there is an A-10 to the left of all the options with a serial # on it's nose. Why not use this serial # to display the version? For example, instead of serial #81978 as it currently is, how about #01107 (soon to be 01108)? Pardon me if that's not called a 'serial number' on the plane. I wouldn't know what else to call it.
MTFDarkEagle Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 so, if I get this straight: you can't find your current installation version? If yes: go to the ME, top right --> credits. There you can find your version number. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
JCav Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 I know how to find my version number by checking in Windows Explorer. I did not know about the rather obscure method you mentioned. I simply thought it was an effective and easy place to put a version number, which MOST game companies put on the main menu.
nomdeplume Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 The game does show the version number on the loading splash screen, but only the first three components. i.e. 1.1.0 at the moment. It'd be easier if they'd just show the full version number there.

rud Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Besides showing the complete version in the splash screen I would really recommend it being displayed in the launcher's main menu. Personally, the corners of the main menu are the first places I look in any video game or sim for versioning info, and there's certainly no shortage of real estate in the main screen right now.
