This is a request to remove a feature. It's the ability of in-game sensors to 'know' whether an object is alive or dead.

It's most noticeable in Black Shark. At low altitudes it's often very difficult to visually distinguish a live vehicle/unit from a dead one. The visual cues such as the patch of scorched earth are often invisible due to the low angle the player is viewing from.

But the Shkval knows. It refuses to lock and track a 'dead' target. As such the increased dangers of wasting ammunition or manoeuvring closer to get visual confirmation is eliminated. You can simply bounce the laser off whatever looks like a target in full confidence that it will sort the living from the dead for you.

Is there a chance this will be fixed in future? I understand it might be a fundamental aspect of how the DCS engine handles live/dead entities but at the moment it's giving the player a god-like ability.

It's already been said it would be fixed it the future.

Currently such features like "knowing" it is either object or not and Shkval HD resolution ect will remain in current state. Technical and time reasons, supposedly.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I am still quite green, have not done bombing, yet.

I use TGP to target enemy, switch to Mavericks but still try to stay in position to watch my Maverick take the target out on my TGP that is not SOI. Easy way to confirm a kill, plus also TAB key in Multiplayer will let you know what you killed. And the apostrophe key to a lesser extent if you got an added kill.

And for the same reason, I prefer TGP for finding live targets.

Yeah, I've seen this in DCSW as well, when the TGP jumps straight to say the geometric center of a building when entering point tracking mode.

Nice plane on that gun...
