I should be in receipt of my FOURTH replacement Warthog HOTAS in approx 2-3 week’s time - awaiting stock from Amazon.

The first unit worked like a charm for the first couple of weeks that was until the Joystick failed to be recognized by Windows.

The second and third units have both suffered LED failures. No biggy really, but having less than 3 months of use out of those units prompted me to return these also. I did noticed one other thread regarding LED failures so assumed that this was quite an uncommon problem.

The good wife cannot understand why I just don’t get a refund and have done with it. I guess she will never understand, he-ho. ;)

Am I just unlucky?

Amazon has an excellent returns service and it hasn't cost me a penny so far. Feel for you sofie, that’s gotta hurt.

Hehe. My priority would be the Hotas, Snus and then the car :smilewink: in that order

(sorry for derailing the thread Axion)

Axion. It's probably old news and not related, but just in case...

I lost wintel access to my TMs some time ago. They both showed up under "devices" but I couldn't reach or recognise it from the Sim. Calibration tool access (Wintel) to verify was gone also from the right-click menues. USB devices themself was visable under the DeviceManager. Turned out my prob was the connection order of the USB devices (got a bundle of'em), I'd rebuild my rig and plugged it the HOTAS as last in the row.

Unplugging all and started with the TM's solved it for me.

Cheers

Gus

Amazon have sent two replacement units, gawd knows why? Should be here Monday. :)

The first failure (stick defect) was Serial #: 00383

Unfortunately I failed to record the SN for the second unit (LED defect) but believe it was in the 1500's

The third is Serial #: 03589 - LED defect.

One thing I have noticed whilst testing all three units is that the Joystick center play and deadzone varies very slightly from one unit to another.

I have one LED out on one of the bottom toggles. Thrustmaster said they would fix it provided I sent the unit in and at my initial expense. It has to go back to Canada too... gah.

I think I will just live with the burned out/inop LED... but I am disappointed that such an expensive item left the factory with a likely defect, and that getting it fixed will require many hoops to jump through.
