Bahger Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Has anyone noticed, and, if so, can anyone explaing, the new "Event" box in the Left hand column of the conditions menu? I've taken a look at it but am not understanding the logic quite yet.
Ripcord Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Not finding what you are referring to, Bahger. Please elaborate. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Druid_ Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 At the moment I see no reason for the new EVENT option list other than for you to add it to make your description a little more logical to read. i.e. Makes reading your code a little easier i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q

Example: "Pilot dead" -> which pilot? Looks like it's purpose is what Druid said. Grimes Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 There is also a new trigger action: "Start Wait user response" It appears it simply sets a flag whenever the user presses the spacebar. I didn't test with other keys. Nor did I test it online. But it works in SP. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. WildFire Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Hi I'm new, been watching for a while though. I noticed something in the ME in 1.1.0.8. I would like to see if anyone else is seeing what I'm seeing? In the GUI manual it states that at the bottom of the DW panel there is an "OK" and "CANCEL" button. Im not seeing either one. Can you guys confirm this, I dont want to submit it in tech if its something known. I tried windowed and full screen modes. No joy. I used to use DW all the time....
nomdeplume Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 The events seem to apply to the player-controlled aircraft in single-player. No idea what they'll do in multiplayer. As a quick test, I created a new trigger with the event 'on eject', condition 'time more than 2 seconds' and action just to display a message. Started mission, waited a few seconds, ejected, received the message.
GGTharos Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I might be wrong, but I believe that the event system right now is there to facilitate training for the most part. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Druid_ Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) Panzertard threw some light on it in this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=74916&highlight=event Yes. Just as all the other 'old' events work. Look at it like this: Consider 'once' being an event - but it will only be 'spent' when a condition has been fulfilled. Consider 'on mission start' being an event. It will be spent (consumed) at mission startup. Consider 'continious' being an event - as often as the sim is able to check it. Same goes for the new Events - they need to be activated by something. Not continously, not at mission startup, not once, but when 'nnn action takes place'. nomdeplume Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) Unrelated, but I just noticed the Su-17 was removed from Georgia's inventory. :( If you load a mission which used it, then they'll be replaced by A-10Cs. They do have the L-39ZA now which I think only Russia had previously. Edit -> just noticed a fairly significant change, ground vehicles that were placed as 'static' are now treated as normal vehicles (without AI, presumably) by the game. i.e. if you have labels on, they'll be labeled, and AI units will detect them and attack them as if they were regular groups.
