Teriander Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 I don't know about you guys, but Im really looking forward to a Campaign in a desert/middle eastern environment. I tired to create my own, but it looks as though you can only make maps based off one, Russia style area? Or is there a Desert map that I overlooked? I would really like to do Missions involving Middle Eastern style scenarios. Maybe like a fictional Iran invasion or something. Or scud hunting, A-10 Missions taken from both Iraq wars and put into one fictional war.etc. I checked the user files and didn't see anything like it. Is it possible or not at the moment? btw: This new patch does rock!

The landscape we have is looking a bit tired now so I eagerly await Nevada. Also, there is an area of the map currently which looks a bit like Afghanistan, though I can't remember where it is! It's clearly an arid area with many mountains - I think this type of campaign you want could be simulated there. Maybe our russian friends might be interested in the current area due to recent conflicts against Georgia, but for me, Im not really interested. Im patiently waiting for Nevada, its not exactly what I would have hoped, but it might work somehow. It would be just great to see the tri border area (Saudi, Iraq and Kuwait) in DCS. Even a fictional conflict where americans invade Iran would be cool too. Banned by cunts.

nemises Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 A desert Map is in production, of the Nevada / las Vegas area by ED....this could be used to Red-Flag type training campains, or a fictional "red dawn" / homefront type affair? ... this will be released as a pay addon (though free for those who purchased A10c during Beta) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=57485 There is also a community project to map Afghanistan. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45658 Both have been in production for many months...no ETA as to when either would be released.
