Hi all,

Because we always need a SPI to slave the sensors, I just need to use the china hat forward long (Slave sensors to SPI). Even the next steerpoint will become automatically a SPI.

So, what is the function of the china hat aft long (slave sensors to steer point) ? Or which condition(s) lead to use the china hat aft long ?

Thanks,

It's basic function is to slave the TGP to a steerpoint :book:

It is not a function I ever really use, and I too have wondered when I would use it. Steerpoints are normally put on an area of interest. So I guess if you wanted to check that area quickly, while keeping your SPI on another target you can do that.

For instance if your steerpoint is on a compound but your SPI is on a tank further down the road you can switch between the two quickly.

By the way- China hat aft long slews just the TGP to the steerpoint not all sensors.

That's pretty much how I've been using it, e.g. I attack a target that's near my current location by using the TGP to make that target the SPI, slaving all to that SPI (China Hat Forward Long) and launching a mav at it. With the steerpoint being at the next area of interest, I then slave the TGP to that steerpoint (China Hat Aft Long) and start searching for targets at that location. Rinse and repeat.

I use it to switch between several markpoints in no time.

Because your TPG automatically jumps from mark to mark it is pretty handy if you want to take a quick look whats still alive down there.

Sure you can do the same via a combination of DMS/Steepoint rocker, TMS and Chinahat. But why would you go the long way?

mixed TGP and SPI ;)

Yeah thats what I do too, but the OP is referring to slave TGP to steerpoint, not SPI to steerpoint.

SPI to steer point is TMS back long not china hat aft long.

ChinaHat After long = Slave TGP to Steerpoint

TMS After long = SPI to Steerpoint

Manual Page 84 and 88

So... if TGP is SOI:

[ChinaHat After long] + [TMS Forward long] = [TMS After long] + [ChinaHat Forward long]

Result:

TGP is looking at the Steerpoint and the SPI is on this point too.

Sorry my bad, i mixed both up.

As i wrote before I use TGP to Steerpoint when i want to check several markpoints. It saves one key press. :smilewink:
