Have you confirmed that 0.7 is working outside of DCS:
Does it work when you Show Demo Scene from the Oculus Configuration Utility?
Is there an orange light on your dk2 before you launch DCS?
Then we'd better hope the Apple vs Samsung mobile phone 'arms race' continues to create increasingly ridiculous high res screens (for mobiles) that we get to enjoy the benefits of ;)
Oculus Rift prototype now at 1080p
The O.R. prototype is now running at 1080p...

Assuming the consumer O.R. will be at that resolution ( 960 x 1080 portrait for each eye), will that be enough for DCS?
Components just too fragile
Mine just broke too.
I got 18 months out of mine before the three-pronged-thingy snapped off permanently and one of the wires broke in a place that's just too tricky for me to solder. Shame NP haven't released a stronger track clip.
Another satisfied TrackIR 5 user here. I agree with cichlidfan that the clip that you wear on your head (attached to headphones) is a bit fragile, but it works brilliantly.
There's also a homemade alternative, FaceTrackNoIR that you might want to check out if you're on a tight budget: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=56837
This thread made me smile with empathy. Everything in my sig except Windows, the PSU and monitor was purchased after ED's A-10C.
Ching ching goes the cash register of the PC parts retailers...
I knew I was in for a steep learning curve when I bought the beta, but who would have thought something as simple as a few exterior lights could be so complicated... I love it!!!
JS, you shouldn't have to install the patch to get the updated manual. I did a clean install & the manual was found in: c:\program files\eagle dynamics\dcs a10c\doc\ (not "/docs").
Agreed. It's a very minor thing, but a date in the doc itself will still help reduce confusion where people have printed copies of the manual. And RglsPhoto's change log would help all of us know which bits of the manual we should dip back into.
I notice that the manual released with v1.1.0.9 now has a date that we might be able to use to confirm the manual version in future.
Page 15 says "Sincerely,The DCS: A-10C Warthog Team, 06 June 2011".
Hopefully this date will get updated with each revision of the manual.
I don't think I noticed it as much, in flight, because of the other sounds. I tried the Emergency Canopy Jettison Lever from a ramp start, in silence, and the lack of a sound effect was quite jarring...
A very small thing, but I thought someone might want to know - there seems to be no sound when the Emergency Canopy Jettison Lever is pulled. The canopy is jettisoned, but silently.
Thanks for pointing that out slackerD.
Hopefully, preserving our configs across patches will be a 'feature' that is introduced at some point. Every other sim/game I play remembers my settings so it does seem a little unusual to make us redo our config every patch...
