dbeaty Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Is it possible to FF through the exchanges with JTAC, I cringe every time I need to contact them to see what they have. Perhaps have an option to skip to the next action point in the radio dialog? Or, maybe it's there already, like the magic "TAB" key to step back in the hierarchy.:book: Asus P6 MB i7 6GB OC'd 3.8Ghz Win 7 64bit Cogage Cooler Radeon 6870 OC'd 975Mhz Core 1250 MHz RAM TM Afterburner TrackIR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Aardvarking it
RodBorza Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I don't think there is one. And, in my opinion, it is not desirable to skip ahead. Lots of the info that the JTAC gives you is important. Target coordinates and wind info is important to input in the CDU (the first if the datalink fails; the second for the target computer wind compensation). Just to name two . This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog

Frostiken Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Mostly what annoys me is the intro speech - Darkstar this is Hog 2-1 4x A-10s with <insert list of every munition I have>. Then after all that I realize I keyed the wrong radio and have to listen to it again :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Frostiken Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) So learn to key the right radio.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Right after you learn to not be a jackass. Edited July 4, 2011 by Frostiken [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ripcord Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) OK, then it might take you a long time to learn this sim. At least I did not tell you to RTFM. Give me some credit, friend. Ripcord EDIT: If I makes you feel better, I went to EASY radio communications today just to finally master which calls are VHF AM, which are VHF FM, UHF, etc. Decided it would be a useful step as a learning tool. rud Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) thumbs up to lctrl+z. I have both time accel and time slow on my HOTAS. There are times I don't mind spending the few minutes listening to JTAC and times I don't want to hear them do their spiel. Time accel allows you to fast forward, and makes JTAC sound like he's a chipmunk. Usually I'm fine for the first couple calls, after a while if it's single player I tend to want to fast forward through, and the sim lets you do that! Edited July 5, 2011 by rud
Ramrod_45 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I'd like the nine line on screen a little longer. I'm 62 and with my weary eyes coupled with varifocal glasses I struggle to get all the info written down before it disappears. But I still think this is the finest aircraft sim ever produced. Also a big thankyou to all who contribute help and advice to the less experienced.
MadTommy Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 ^^ you should also receive it as a message in the Message screen on the MFCD.. this is very helpful at times :) i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. Frostiken Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Well, unless you're suffering from a SADL bug. Personally I would love an interactive kneepad in-game that would keep chart of all this shit for you. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Baggy MacDouche Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I don't recall always getting a message. Think it might depend on the JTAC type in effect. I too always feel like I am missing info, either JTAC comms or scripted mission comms. The timeout is pretty short and no way to recall the messages. I'd love for there to be a way to access a log of all comms in a mission. Maybe make it part of the briefing page? PLEASE? :) Corsair Graphite 780T / ASUS Maximus VIII Hero / i7-6700K@4.5GHz / Corsair H110i / 32GB DDR4 PC-2666 / ASUS 1080 Strix / EVGA 850 Pro / Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD / Win10x64 / Samsung UN48JU7500 4k / Logitech G910/933 KB/Headphones / Razer Naga Epic Mouse / MFG Crosswinds / TM HOTAS Warthog / HTC Vive

dbeaty Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 LCTRL-Z? Nate Thanks Nate, I use CNTL Z all the time. Sometimes I just want to get the target sent to my TAD so I can go hunting. If I'm not in the mood for the long reality check version and just the "give me the target location and I'll go destroy it" version! :gun_smilie: Asus P6 MB i7 6GB OC'd 3.8Ghz Win 7 64bit Cogage Cooler Radeon 6870 OC'd 975Mhz Core 1250 MHz RAM TM Afterburner TrackIR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Aardvarking it
