If you take out the main radar, the rest will be defenseless? Meaning, those radars on the launchers are only for tracking? If yes, Mavericks and CBUs would be a very nice combo. DEAD with A-10s...wow!

This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly:

Not defenceless, no. Launch vehicles are autonomous (TELAR), ie as you said they have their own radar and can still engage you - as shown however their range will be severely restricted without the search radar and as such easy targets once the main radar is plinked. They will still however engage you so be careful.

DEAD missions - Entirely possible and good fun, provided you're willing to sweat a wee bit. The Hog has grown up - Scuds are no longer fun :D

Flying with Jets is a bit different - I used to simply outmaneuver the 3 missiles they launch. But in DCS A10C, its a bit more problematic as you dont have the Thrust to Weight ratio, and there maybe some IR launching Manpads in the near area.

Aye - that's true.

DEAD Engagement is however from 9nm, well out of range of the IR stuff, even out-ranging Tor's and OSA's - All you need to do is spoof the first volley which is admittedly sometimes easier said than done, especially if you do not have a mole-hill to hide behind :)

But what if you got manpads on the way to the target? If some of those bastards stands on the top of one of those houses?

Btw, can you place manpads on the top of houses?
