REL
Manual page 452: Note: TISL, TCN, and ILS are all mutually exclusive. Only one of these three can be operating at one time because all three use the CDI on the HSI. Correct me if I wrong here but this not supposed to happen, right? Murf7413
I would guess probably one of our resident A-10 maintainers can get that answer from the real world... I got a couple of buddies that fly for the A-10 Demo teams... I will send them an e-mail and ask. Mind if If I use your screenshot to show them?? intel i7 960, Liquid cooled case, Vista 64bit, 8MB RAM, nVidia GTS250 XLR8 Extreme Performance 1MB, TM COUGAR HOTAS
Murf7413
In the A-10A TCN and ILS buttons could both be selected at the same time. The result is: Pointer #1: TACAN Pointer #2: UHF ADF (if available) HSI Range: TACAN HSI CDI: ILS ADI Bank: ILS ADI Pitch: ILS I do believe you are correct.... I just don't remember if that is the case or not... but, I THINK it is so...:tomato: intel i7 960, Liquid cooled case, Vista 64bit, 8MB RAM, nVidia GTS250 XLR8 Extreme Performance 1MB, TM COUGAR HOTAS
mia389
I have always wondered what pointer 2 points at. Can a guy change that what pointer 2 sees? Like could I make it steerpoint?

BBQ
With ILS and TACAN selected, I wonder if the CDI will still guide to runway heading if you manually input a course with the course knob, or if it even allows you to change it with the course knob. Have to check this next time I'm doing an approach--
BBQ
So really there is no good reason to use the TACAN? It provides range with DME (distance measuring equipment), but you can get the same by selecting steerpoint (final). Well, I guess it could come in handy in case of avionics failure... Fish
What if you only have a tacan for that runway ? BBQ
What if you only have a tacan for that runway ? You could still use your last waypoint in flight plan. Choose steerpoint and EGI on control panel and you'll get bearing and range on HSI. Only thing I can think of would be if you lose avionics--lose CDU or something--then at least you'll have TACAN to get home.

Or you could use a divert, and and make it SPI. It's what i like about DCS A10 so many solutions to each navigation problem. mia389
If you have both selected wont your CDI be ILS, RMI 1 be Tacan and RM2 be Steerpoint?
