FSXHD Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I can't tune the ILS frequency. It won't go past 108.300. I tried installing the training mission hotfix update and the 3gb switch but nothing has worked. Does anyone know a solution? goljat Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 In the guns and missile tutorial I can't figure out how to launch rockets/missiles with a keyboard. I have tried three times from the start so I think I have the settings right. The spacebar is for the cannon. Waiting for a joystick..

FSXHD Posted July 13, 2011 Author Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) Could you provide a track of your flight, so we can make sure you have the correct version of the mission? I'll happily do that, but I tried tuning it in a free flight mission and it wouldn't budge there either. I bought this on Steam a few days ago because of the sale with another friend and he has the same issue as well. We both have 1.1.0.8. The track is too big to be attached to this forum so I have provided a download link through Dropbox. Link - https://dl.dropbox.com/s/pauqefxrgroquzz/A-10C-Training-Landing.miz?dl=1 Thanks, Kevin Burns EDIT: I have set key commands to tune the ILS frequency. The knobs move when I press the corresponding key just as they do when I use the mouse, but the numbers in the readout do not change. All other radios that operate like this work fine. The ILS panel is the only one that seems broken at the moment. I am running 32-bit Win7 as well if that info helps. Still, it might be useful to see your actual track. You can save a track by running the mission from the Mission Editor. The save track option will be provided in the debrief screen. Possibly a weird keyboard issue? I just tested this in the release version of 1108. Mapped the ILS keys to combinations of RWIN + arrow keys. Worked fine (though step is too large for precise frequency control). And your mouse wheel doesn't work when scrolling it over the knobs? - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. But about the scroll wheel, when I do scroll over the mHZ and kHZ knobs, the knobs move as if they were working but the readout does not change. The same situation happened with the keyboard commands. The knobs move, the readout does not change. FSXHD Posted July 15, 2011 Author Posted July 15, 2011 After reading the other thread, I'll not post the track as you will get the same result. I'll try downloading off of the DCS site and reinstalling. I've never really trusted Steam installing huge and complex games like this one. I'll report back. FSXHD Posted July 15, 2011 Author Posted July 15, 2011 I'm happy to report that after a reinstall from DCS's site, all ILS-related functions work perfectly and I now can complete the landing mission. Problem solved. Either there is something wrong with the Steam version or it corrupts the first install. After the reinstall, I have also noticed a slight performance increase with the original copy over the Steam copy. Thanks EvilBivol-1 for your time. Dark_Swordmaster Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Would you mind posting your system? I'm 99% certain it's just the Steam install is borked, but I'm wondering if we have anything in common that might be a factor in it.

A reinstall will fix it almost certainly, but here are my specs. CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 at 2.4 GHz Memory: 4gb RAM (not sure which DDR; 2 or 3 is my guess) Graphics: Two NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 1gb cards HDD: 500gb Western Digital drive @ 7200 rpm OS: Windows 7 SP1 32-bit That's pretty much it. Hope it helps! Regards, Kevin Burns Dell XPS 630i - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz - 4gb RAM - Two 1gb Nvidia GTS 240 vcards - Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Dark_Swordmaster Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 We have the same CPU. I don't know if that'd be the issue. CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz Mem: 2GB Video: nVidia 8800GT OS: Win 7 32-bit Not sure if it matters, but considering we both had the same issue, and it was reoccurring, it might be something to look in to about the Steam version for ED. Or not, considering it was fixed by grabbing it off their site...
EvilBivol-1 Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 When I downloaded and installed a Steam version to test this problem, it worked correctly, so there is something more subtle going on than a general Steam installation problem. If anything, my first suspect would be the 32bit OS, which both of you also have in common. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer.
