X52 mode switch

Recommended Posts

Hi, all.

I lost my nice working profile for the F-15. It was a downloaded profile and I could use the function buttons like normal buttons. Now I was downloading a profile again, but I´m not sure if it is the same one like I had before. All is working fine again, just a problem with the mode switch. In game the mode switch is working also. If I switch from mode 1 (Navigation) to mode 2 is like I´m pressing on the keyboard first 1 and after 2, I end up in BVR mode, radar off. Mode 3: 1-2-C-I means gun ready, radar on.

But in this macros must be an error. After starting the profil my CPU power (kernel time) turns up to 25%. (Intel 2500K, ...) If I don`t program the mode switch, kernel time is low at 0-2%.

What´s wrong?

If you're using the SST software, by default the Mode switch just presses and holds down whatever button you've assigned to it. I learned this the hard way after assigning the Modes to Control Up, Control Down, and Control Right. I chose the profile and immediately my desktop started going crazy with icons being highlighted.

To make the Mode switch useful, choose Mode 1, Mode 2, or Mode 3 in the vertical column in the SST software. Right click and choose "Advanced Command" and then in the "Press" box input the command you'd like that Mode position to use (I have mine mapped to the AAP panel).

This is exactly what I do. All is working fine in the game, I´m sure no button stays pressed, just that the CPU goes up after activating the profile.

I had the exact problem with the X52 and emailed tech support years ago they told me if you put a keypress under the mode switch it will cotinuously send it while in that mode because it is not really a button and it never gets released. Evenually it overruns and causes high CPU usage.

The way to correct the problem for this is to use a macro instead. a macro will execute 1 time then stop. The best way to see this is click the little gear and test your profile. You can see what its sending for output.

I think I tried everything. I reinstalled 2 times(registry, cleared folders...), tested stick in the profileditor. (by the way, is it normal that, if I just click the gear, the selected mode on the stick runs automaticly, without touching the stick?) If I just put one macro, and no other command, to one of the three modes, and enter this mode, my CPU usage goes high.

I would like to try a profile with working macros at the mode switch. Mode1 keystrokes: 21, mode2: 12, mode 3: 12ci

Who send me a profile, or where can I find a nice working one for my X52?
