will the dcs series ever be crossfire or sli ready? i was just wondering if the makers of the dcs series thought about this. it would be nice if future dcs games support this concept.

I'm sure they've through about it, and they have much bigger fish to fry for now.

This guy runs quad-sli with 3x30" monitors:

$2800 of Nvidia cards, and $4000 of monitor!

He doesn't seem to have a problem but maybe A-10C engine handles it better than blackshark.

That is way more money then I'll ever spend on a computer! Even if i had the money, I don't know if I could bring myself to actually buy it. I'm sure the wife would rather go on a criuse or some other vacation.

All depends on exactly how much money you have. :P I personally cry every time I see a regular gamer (who doesn't do video encoding etc) that has a 990 processor or similar.

But I do know people for whom dropping that kind of money "feels" roughly the same for them as what it feels like for me when I drop 2k dollars on a complete machine. So hey... Everything is relative to the speed of light. :P

It all depends on how much "free" money someone has to work with. I have a wife and 4 kids and they are eating more these days. Just spent $270 yesterday and on July 15th spent $170 :cry_2: Good thing I just got another raise and gonna free up some more money in the next few weeks. But I have to get another car which is gonna take away that free money :( that's life for you. One of these days I will be able to get a new computer, but it won't come close to that price.

And right there you have one of the reasons why I am single. :P

Though tbh, make her pull some of the weight. (Though, of course, depending on the age of the kids and the price of childcare... Might not be possible I guess.)

She pulls her weight and is going to school and that takes up a lot of time. She have had jobs but when we moved she wanted to go to school. That is fine with me, things were going good at our last base. Here has been a different story, but things are getting better. Having a family does throw a ripple in things, but I wouldn't change that one bit.

Ah, yeah, then I can definitely see it. Not much to do but get with the graft and keep working on the future. :)

That's what I have been doing, just glad I have a beautiful wife that doesn't mind if I play computer games. I have been that one that needs to pull a little more weight...

Let me know if you find yourself wanting a cheap upgrade. I'm a total nerd so I usually maintain a pretty good grasp of the hardware market. I'm a geeky overclocker myself, but that's partially because I'm a performance per dollar worshipper. Let me know if I can help whenever. :)

Will do, but not sure how much shipping would cost to send to the US.

Most of my sources are US, cheaper from there.

Either way, you should wait 6 months to get bulldozer and ivy out. That'll dump prices on "old" stuff enough that you should be able to find some very capable stuff at cheap.

My wife would let you buy it but she knows I wouldn't do it. I could of got a new computer a year ago but I decided to do other things. That's my problem when we have the money I want to do it, but I don't cause I feel guilty

Also a single little cheap device does a lot of work that saves you from needing so much monitor (Trackir). I do have a 30", but at single 30" is enough for me and also works well for other games/sims that can't handle the triple screen.

I've got a 24" below it to display the MFCDs. A single GTX580 1.5gb (only $500) is enough to power that with most settings on high at 60fps. Sandy bridge processor overclocked to 5ghz gives plenty to DCS I suspect as well though. But it's all a fraction of the cost of that beast. Did you see the build thread?

Also I don't want to turn down any eye candy for an even bigger res, this is already running at 2560x2600.

But the original question was the crossfire/sli.. do you think that guy is actually getting anything from the SLI even if 10% extra per card? Does DCS get a little from SLI but not crossfire?
