toby23 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) EDIT - Almost solved it now - See HERE for more EDIT - While this works for some single player missions, it causes major flickering clouds in some campaign missions so it's not a real fix... back to the drawing board... I've got rid of the flickering MFCD TGP screen in SLI mode. 1. Open the Nvidia Control Panel 2. Restore Default Settings for DCS Black Shark 3. Set 'SLI rendering mode' to 'Use global setting (Nvidia recommended)' 4. Set 'Antialiasing Mode' to 'Override any application setting' 5. Set 'Antialising - Setting' to 'SLI 8x' 6. A warning will pop up (By selecting SLI 8x antialiasing.....) 7. Click Yes 8. Set 'Antialiasing - Setting' to '4x' 8. A second warning will pop up (SLI visual quality is highest when....) 9. Click Yes 10. Set up the other settings according to Screenshot 1 below. 11. Open DCS A-10C and set up in-game MSAA, VSYNC and RES. OF COCKPIT SETTINGS according to Screenshot 2 below. 12. Start a mission and enjoy flicker free hunting I've seen the odd cloud flicker but the flickering in the TGP is gone. I think this is forcing the sim to use a different SLI rendering mode but I don't understand enough about it to write something smart here. YMMV, this works for me in patch 1.1.0.9 If it works for you, let me know below. Edited July 25, 2011 by toby23 Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060
BTTW-DratsaB Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) Interesting, but wouldn't you get the exact same effect just by doing steps 1-3? Eg: the difference you are invoking here is instead of usign Nvidia's custom MultiGPU rendering mode for BlackShark you are using Nvidia's default MultipGPU profile. Edit I looked at it inspector and doing the above is keeping the compatibility flags for BlackShark but changing some other SLI rendering settings. Ill have to try this out. With these kind of changes it is important to keep track of your FPS as some times you can seemingly fix a problem (like the flickering TGP) but end up disabling any FPS befits that SLI was giving any way. I'm pretty sure you can forego all the steps from 4 on and just use steps 1- 3 for this experiment though. Anyway, when I finally get 1.09 installed and running properly I'll have a play with this and report back. Interesting discovery though. toby23 Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Ok, what I've done for now is to switch SLI off and as a result, I have had to drop down to 1920x1200 to get decent performance, with my settings. It would be great if ED can fix the SLI so we can max performance. Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060
scheffchen Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 toby, so the 1024 every frame setting doesn´t help? Back the days when I used SLI (GTX 470) i did not have any more tgp flickering when using the setting... 9900k, 2080TI, 64GB, ssd, valve index, Thrustmaster on virpil, virpil cm2 throttle, tpr pedals, mfd.
