Verto6 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Hi all! First my radio communication works just fine (BS 1.0.1)!:) But does anybody know how to avoid, that ground crew says "Hey, what are you doing?" after I rearmed, refueled... Actually I leave their frequency before I start taxiing again, but if I stay at the ground freq I always hear this sentence.:dontgetit: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

MTFDarkEagle Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Do note the groundcrew does not have a "frequency".. The groundcrew is directly communicating to the aircraft via a cable plugged into the aircraft. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread

Actually I leave their frequency before I start taxiing again, but if I stay at the ground freq I always hear this sentence.:dontgetit: I have found that in order to avoid the ground crew yelling at me, I have to do 2 things. First, when I am done repairing and rearming, and am done with the ground crew, I start my APU, then turn on APU GEN. Then I ask the ground crew to turn off the ground power, then I switch the intercom dial back to VHF. Second, I contact the current airbase tower and request engine start>taxi. This seems to satisfy the ground crew. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" Verto6 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Turn the intercom switch to something other then "ground crew". yes, I mean this by saying that I leave their freq - sry. Do note the groundcrew does not have a "frequency".. The groundcrew is directly communicating to the aircraft via a cable plugged into the aircraft. Oh, ok now I unedrstand: They say "Hey what r ya doing?", because I taxi away with their com.-cable still plugged to the heli, right? very real ! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
