Russian fonts don't appear

Hi all, I've recently been to Kiev(Ukraine) and bought the Russian version of Flamming Cliffs. I was so happy that I finally got my hand on it, but when I came back to Canada and installed it, some problems appeared, in some places, Russian letters dont appear, instead there are "??????". Like for MIG-29C it is written: ???-29?

It worked fine when I tried it in Kiev on a Russian version of XP pro. I have XP pro english version. So if anyone could help me solve this problem, I'll appreciate.

You need to install the Russian fonts on your computer.

I dont think thats the problem, because menu titles do appear in Russian, and XP pro shouldhave russian font already installed... but just to be sure, i'll try to install/reinstall them. The thing is.... how do I do that? where do I get them?

it should already be on your pc, just goto regional and language options in your control panel and look in there. I wouldnt know exactly where / what to pick but you will get a list of various language packs etc, i think it would be cyrillic you are looking for, but i am not sure

The menu titles may not be using the fonts native to your computer, they may just be part of the background picture or header.

Go into the regional and language settings, install the russian fonts, then select russian from the drop down box, should do it.

i have ahd the same situation as you.. i got russian CD-version as a gift. You could copy from your english downloadversion the file lo-mac\FUI\EnglishVersionUserInterface.cfg to your installation as lo-mac\FUI\russianversion\UserInterface.cfg.

 

I am South African, and have translated the english texts to Afrikaans, check as example the attached file.

pappavis: Yeah I've already tried this yesterday but it only translated some Russian words that weren't in "????" format. Like "File";"Campaing";etc. Thx anyway.
