sc275 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Wondering if my laptop can run black shark. It's not a high end laptop at all and it has an integrated graphics card and I remember LOMAC had crippling graphical glitches because of the graphics card. Can my computer run either Black Shark or A-10C Warthog? Can you run it often is wrong for my computer and I can run games it says I can't. Processor- Intel ® Core i3 CPU M370 @ 2.40 GHz RAM- 4 GB (3.8 GB useable) System type- 64 Bit Operating System Graphics -Intel ® HD Graphics -video ram-1.7 GB -Hardware T+L- Yes -Pixel Shader Version- 4.0 -Vertex Shader Version-4.0 Operating System- Windows 7 Home Premium
Rusty_M Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Well I'd imagine from that that black shark would run, but I'm not sure the CPU in particular is up to running it well. I'm not sure how friendly BS is with integrated graphics either. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
sc275 Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 (edited) thanks for the reply Rusty! If anyone else has any thoughts about my rig feel free to reply. I wanna buy this game but its 40 bucks on steam and I wanna be sure it'll run well before i buy it.:smilewink: Also I know that this is the Black Shark forum but if anyone thinks I can run A-10 please say so also. I know the system requirements are up but I've never been good at reading those and my computers slightly different because of its integrated card so help would be greatly appreciated. VincentLaw Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 (edited) I run both Warthog and Blackshark fine with a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo, 32 bit windows 7, and 4 GB RAM. Your laptop is better than mine in processor, operating system, and memory (since 32 bit cant use all 4 GB.) I was also able to run both games (more slowly) back when I only had 2 GB RAM. You will definitely want to use a big hard drive paging file so that your game can use more of your memory (It helps a lot). The only thing you need to worry about is the integrated graphics. I'm not sure how well Blackshark will run on it, but your integrated graphics might be better than my Nvidia 8700M GT since your hardware is over two years newer than mine. Hopefully someone else has a better answer about your graphics. Edited July 26, 2011 by VincentLaw [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
slug88 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 In all likelihood you will not get playable performance with integrated graphics. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 In all likelihood you will not get playable performance with integrated graphics. What he said. BS may be CPU-centric, you you can't just completely ignore the sore thumb of an Intel HD. If that had been a Sandy processor then maybe it could have worked, but not with an "oldschool" HD. isoul Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) I believe that you 'll experience poor performance. Edited July 27, 2011 by isoul
BaD CrC Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I think there is an issue with integrated graphics and DCS sims. I can have BS running a an old core 2 duo 1.6Ghz (not high settings though), but it's got an 7950GTX 512Mb and 2Gig of RAM. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
spyda Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 you might be better off trying to play lock on fc2 if you dont already own it. just keep the details low, but i think it will be to sluggish for BS and a10 HP TouchSmart IQ816 / 25.5" HD touch screen / 9600GS 512/ Core 2 Duo 2.16 / 4GB RAM / VISTA 64 / CH Fighterstick
