STP Dragon Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Excellent shots, did anyone else see the booty shot? The hook of the F-15 is not for carriers if you mean that. Some airports have cables too but they use a much longer way to catch the aircraft. The F-15 is not made for the short way (and extreme forces) to land on a carrier. What i try to say is that they only use Lockheed Martin Sniper XR Pod's . The Litening targeting pod we use at DCS A-10C is not available there . I asked the pilot about that. He sad that they can use both pods. They wish to have a mix of both pods. The Sniper pod has a better camera with better zoom and contrast. The Lightnig pod has a better field of view. The F-15 is not made for the short way (and extreme forces) to land on a carrier. This is the shot I was talking about. I know what the tail hook on the F-15 and F-16 are used for. I have actually seen an F-16 use it in real world in Alaska. It came in with a problem and they called us out because he fired his zine bottle (H-70/hydrazine) <---some nasty stuff to mess with. We had to make sure it wasn't leaking. Moving around a F-16 with a air bottle on your back isn't fun when it catches the barrier. see the booty in the background... i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

ED Team Groove Posted August 11, 2011 ED Team Posted August 11, 2011 Cali, did you guys used full body HAZMAT Suit for that Hydrazine incident? Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Cali Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) Cali, did you guys used full body HAZMAT Suit for that Hydrazine incident? No, we go in first with apron (at Luke AFB we had suits we wore, but not the haz suits. Basically a thin plastic suit) , face shield, gloves and a air pack. If we detect a leak then we come out get suited up in the haz suit and clean up. Unless it's a crash site. Back in April 2006, I had to go to a crash site. Wearing that suit sucked! I think I lost about 10 lbs. The F-16 had engine problems when it took off and ended up in a farmers field about 4 miles from base. mvsgas Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Its a tyvek suit right? To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
Cali Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) Its a tyvek suit right? I think we had the Tychem suits at Luke, just talked to a guy back there.
