Conure Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I've noticed in the recent patch that when I get closer to the refueling boom it's significantly more responsive. Pretty sure this isn't just me getting better (would be nice if it was) however I can now take on a full load of fuel without too much difficulty. If it is, thanks ED for making it less frustrating :) Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
SmokeyTheLung Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 The only thing that I've noticed with the tanker is slightly smother turns. So, safe to say you are improving! System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
BrumTx Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 With me it's still doing A2A then flying off into the distance ...... never to land again Remember the 346 Fire Fighters, Medics & Police who died on 9-11....... Selective memory is a wonderful thing, especially when certain posts simply disappear into the ether never to be seen again, unless I have a copy of the original post copied and pasted into word documents and saved .... just in case :) Am I an abusive idiot ? Kenan Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 ^^I believe if your tanker does that, you probably either bumped into it or got too close for comfort. ALDEGA Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I haven't tried it myself since 1.1.0.9 but the AI still has some issues here. Often the AI will hit the tanker and eject, which isn't really helpful to your mission's success ;-) One time I saw an AI jettison his munition and eject while his wingman was refueling. His aircraft was nowhere near the tanker though ...... (see attached screenshot) 1

Nope dont think so, nice approach good refuel in both AI and my aircraft and then it just carries on over uncharted space Remember the 346 Fire Fighters, Medics & Police who died on 9-11....... Grimes Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 AI to AI mid-air refueling seems to be fixed and working properly. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Th4n4t0s Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I haven't had too much experience with mid-air refueling myself, but I have to say that Aldega's screenshots had me on the floor laughing. Oh the AI, it alone provides hours of entertainment, what a great sim!
nomdeplume Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 One time I saw an AI jettison his munition and eject while his wingman was refueling. His aircraft was nowhere near the tanker though ...... (see attached screenshot) The AI will jettison and punch out if they run out of fuel, so maybe that's what happened.
Grimes Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Its kinda screwed up when it comes to the rules which AI must use to refuel. You can trigger them to refuel, but its at its best, is a guess regarding how long they can stay airborne. If you rely on the AI to decide, chances are the wingman will always reach their fuel limit first and go by themself to tank up and then spend most of that fuel trying to get back to their lead. Also if the tanker runs out of fuel to pump the AI will just stay attached. It would be nice to have a "vector to tanker if flight fuel below X%" behavior option for AI flights. Likewise a similar condition for weapons used. There is no point in having a CAP flight airborne if it has no A2A missiles... The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
