Conure Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Hey all, Read somewhere there is a way to see mission progress or percent completed? Is this true? If so, how? Have searched the manual and GUI guide and cant find it! Thank you Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
Nate--IRL-- Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 On my keyboard I press ' to get in mission scoring. Look for the Score value (0-100) to see your progress - anything over 50% is a mission pass. Nate 1 Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
EtherealN Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Note that how this is handled is up to the mission designer - it is for example fully possible to make it "silent" such that the final score is only applied once a final condition is met, such as landing at home base. Essentially, think of each score assignment as a trigger that requires both a "unit X dead" AND "player landed". In this case, checking the score in-flight might not actually show a value - it could show 0% even though you've done everything you should except the landing bit. The purpose of such a setup could be to ensure that the player actually survived the mission, if it's part of a campaign, forcing the player to fly safe. parxuk Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 On the same note, i have been flying one of the campains where you have to ensure 2 tank regiments (packer and another) reach their objective. I noticed that it will briefly show in the top right hand corner of the screen, that either they have been lost and i presume mission lost, or that they succeeded. I have flown the mission a couple of times and have sometimes missed the message because i have been too busy with my head in the cockpit (ok, i know i should be looking out the window - but i am still new to all this). Is there a way to recall this type of message, because if the people i am supposed to be protecting have been destroyed (but i missed the message), there is no point in me continuing and i might as well start again Intel i7 8700K @ 5Ghz, Aorus Z370 Gaming5, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000MHz, Nvidia 3080Ti FE, Samsung 970 NVME, Samsung 512GB EVO SSD x 2, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Rudder Pedals, HP Reverb G2, Windows 11 x64, DCS Modules = FC3, A10c Warthog, F14 Tomcat, F18 Hornet, F16 Viper, Persian Gulf, Syria.
EtherealN Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Unfortunately not without editing the mission - such messages are typically triggered, and as such are part of the mission itself. To make them re-appear the designer (or you as a user) would have to change the trigger such that it will repeat with a given interval. ivanwfr Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 (edited) As a (very new) mission author I would have liked to hear a positive answer to this question because, from what I'm aware of, the "Message" action we're talking about would highly benefit from having a way to access some context dependent text content. Meaning wheter some Flag is true, false, more, less, ..., the message text would be this or that. Currently, a mission author can provide a player-activated trigger like, for instance, press UFC Master Caution to do the trick with minimum interference with cockpit operations : CONDITIONS: X: COCKPIT ARGUMENT IN RANGE(403, 0.9, 1) // UFC Master Caution ACTIONS: Message TO ALL, some smart text here Maybe I've only missed something already there to do just that ? That would look like: FLAG SET TEXT VALUE ;) Edited August 18, 2011 by ivanwfr
