Geert Hooghe Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Adding additional structures to an airbase in the mission editor ? There are detailled maps of the different airbases with all the structures included...so my question ! Is this done or not done ? (e.g. FARP, Hangars, ...)

Do we alter the configuration of the buildings on a certain airbase ? I want to play it as realistic as possible ? In my head the Russians have not yet invaded Georgia and the coalitions is setting up bases and is building up their forces in the country. So the situation can progress toward a war in the region. Would it be better to build bases OUTSIDE the existing airbases ? Thanks for replying !
Aginor Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Maybe I misunderstood what you were trying to say, so I'll explain a bit more: You cannot change what is there, you can only add things to the scenery. Concerning bases: You cannot build airfields, you have to live with what is there. You cannot build streets or railways, nor can you change the geography. The ground and its textures stay as they are. But you can build FARPs and other structures. Then of course you can build them a little bit different in every mission (by cloning the previous mission and adding/removing things) so you get a nice campaign where there is progress. Building your bases near airfields has the advantage that the player can see them. Otherwise they would go unnoticed for the most part. strategically and tactically it depends on what kind bases they are and whether they know from which side the enemy will come, and if he will come at all. Actually in my experience, the first thing that will happen, at like 750 units, is that you start loosing your sound.
