Hi Guys,

Just purchased Black Shark after having a great time with A10. I have only had it up and running a few times just to see the visuals before i plunge in and being learning!

A little concerned though. I have a very fast PC and run A10 at between 40 and 60 FPS. Sitting cold on the ramp in Black Shark i get 25fps!

Is there something i should be doing?

Thanks for the help

It's hard to say, but getting a DxDiag, details on your settings and hardware, and exact Black Shark version would be helpful.

Check Mirrors are Off

I was getting around 10 FPS the other day in A10C and FC2 and no matter what settings i used it didn't went above 20.

Put mirrors off and FPS went up to a steady 60 whit low 40's

Other things that can safe FPS whitout losing much of the eye candy are;

Heat Blurr

Water setting

And check that Res of cockpit Displays is set to 512 or 1024

not 512 every frame or 1024 every frame.

You can also check your GPU driver software for a setting called something like;

Texture Filtering/MipMap detail

and play whit the quality/performance slider on that one.

Just for trouble shooting, you could set everything to low, turn off Anti Aliasing etc and see if your FPS goes up.

***EDIT***

BTW, you just pasted part of the DxDiag report, heres how you can save the full report

Open dxdiag again and let it run

Then on the bottom of the window to the right there is a button called Save All Information

Hit that and save the .txt file somewhere you can find it and upload it to the forum

For the fun of it, look inside it to, much more information then you pasted from the main screen.

Turning water down is the biggest thing for my modest rig as water is rendered under the terrain.

I am looking forward to the new patch but also not looking forward to it as most likely the new patch will force me to upgrade :-(

Me too, although I'm just going to buy a new adapter (probably a NVidia GTX460) and a beefier PSU (~500W) now. Too skint for anything more substantial ATM...
