WildBillKelsoe Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Hello again, I'm trying to recreate James Bond's TND takeoff scene from the black market... Is there a way to let an asset fire a Tomahawk on the runway?? What I had in mind, is to takeoff facing a SU-25 on the opposite end of the runway and pop past the fireworks (I'm sure I'll get blown clear in the sky), but its worth trial here is the scene starting 06:00 I think it's more doable in Arma 2... mooshim Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 That movie... My god what we fell for when we were kids! Makes me wonder what we're still falling for. I can imagine the hollywood writers sitting around the table coming up with how to end that scene. Noc... See if you can recreate that last bit as well. Thx for that trip down memory lane. mvsgas Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I forgot how bad that movie was. ( I do not mean "Bad" in a "bad@$$ way) I can't think of a way to duplicate that. Maybe telling a Bomber to use a AGM-86? To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

You're welcome dude!! You know, this movie, along with Craig's pair, are the best Bond movies in my opinion.. Teri Hatcher had a good ~30 figure, my template... And those were good times in Hollywood.. In my opinion, CG ruined Hollywood.. I'm a 90's fan... The only reason I like this movie is the Beamer RC thing.. And the long lost (but reliable Ericsson phones brand).. You know The Saint too.. I liked the gadgets with Simon (Kilmer) AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Fleshpiston Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Why did the guy at 6:26 fall asleep? No way could I sleep with all that going on next to me. I have trouble with the neighbours TV let alone explosions and wearing a full flight suit to bed. XarBat Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 This is why I don't watch movies that much. It is difficult for both the filmmakers and the audience to take something that lasts for only 2 hours seriously.

Grimes Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Cruise missiles are somewhat broken and as far as I can tell there is no way to assign an actual target and have the ship launch just a single cruise missile at it. Speed Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) In Black Shark you could assign targets for a ship to engage with Tomahawks. This capability was removed in A-10C. The AGM-86 ALCM from the B-52 is one option. You can get the B-52 to fire just a single ALCM if you want. That said, the terrain following logic is messed up and the ALCM will crash into the side of anything more significant than a molehill. The best cruise missile option is currently the AGM-84E SLAM, which can go quite a long ways and has excellent terrain avoidance. I've never tested its max range, but I'm going to guess 60nm+. What you could do is use an AGM-84E, and have its impact trigger a secondary explosion of like 50000. Then you could have your Hollywood-style huge explosion. Just use a Once-> Unit Damaged -> Explosion. When the AGM-84E impacts and damages or destroys the target, you trigger the explosion on top of the destroyed or damaged target. You might want to avoid the Explode Unit trigger action, as I don't think it will go off if the unit is destroyed. If you want to make the mission even more interesting, make ground troops and vehicles that the player has to kill while on the ground. You can in fact fire the gun while on the ground, but it disables nosewheel steering, meaning that in order to steer the jet, you have to use differential braking and/or split throttle action. Which works great if you have a set of rudder pedals and an X-65 or Warthog, but not so good if you only have an X-52 or something more primitive. What would be real hilarious is if you made it so that the player had to run over some guys at some point. Trigger the Wilhelm scream or the scream from the guy getting run over by the steamroller in that one Austin Powers movie :D Edited September 26, 2011 by Speed Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. Grimes Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I always liked the Whilhelm, but you can always got a little more dramatic with the Howie Scream.
