I´m planning to buy a rig to able to play A-10. I will not have very much time but I still want to give this sim a chance. I played a lot of sims in the past. Therefore I´m planning to buy a laptop, will DCS a-10 be playable and which frame rates can I expect? I have 100" HD projector that I am planning to use sometimes. Can this laptop handle it?

MSI GT780DX-215US

- 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2760QM, 2.4-3.5GHz, (32nm, 6MB L3 cache)

- IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU (Cools better than all Compounds)

- nVidia GeForce GTX 570M 1,536MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11 (SKU - X3R454)

- 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Memory (2x4GB SODIMMS) (SKU - X4N212)

- 750GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache Buffer (Serial-ATA II 3GB/s) - Default (SKU - X5R303)

Will it be good enough or should I buy a desktop with an I5 2500K and GTX560Ti 2Gb?

I want to use the PC for other stuff also, therfore I would prefere a laptop.

That one looks pretty good. If I remember the 570m it is roughly equivalent to the 560Ti.

As long as there's nothing wonky happening, that laptop should serve you pretty well for DCS.

Comparing your rig to the ASUS I5 based, Nvidia 360M, 4GB RPG machine I first ran A-10 on.

It should run quite well. I managed to get acceptable performance out of mine and yours is a major step forward. I would just get an external powered USB hub so you don't have to depend on internal power for controllers.

.......nVidia GeForce GTX 570M....

Word of Warning:

There are no official drivers for that card. As a consequence that laptop will default to the integrated graphics chipset on the laptop and in all probability preclude you from running DCS at all, and if you're lucky, on settings far below what you would have been able to had nVidia actually released drivers for the card.
