VFA41_Lion Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 This should be relatively easy to implement... I was hoping for a more diverse selection of callsigns for groups in the mission editor. Like including the NATO phonetic alphabet, for instance.
Speed Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) Or how about callsigns such as "Buff" or "Bone" for bombers? I do think that the current callsigns for aircraft are far too limited. Before DCS, I can't recall hearing about flights with callsigns like "Enfield" or "Uzi". I guess guns were the flavor of the month when they recorded callsigns for DCS :D. That said, it's not that big of a deal... but it would be nice to see a bigger list in the future. With all the other things ED had to do, it's not too surprising that they, IMO, cut corners a bit on callsigns. Someone could maybe make an expanded callsigns Lua mod- but everyone who flew the mission would have to have it too. Expanding the callsigns is something best left for ED to do eventually. Eddie Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I wonder what good callsigns the community comes up with. The USAF must have some guildelines for what is OK or not OK as a callsign and ones that have been actually used someone knows. Take the top 25 from that list and ring the voice actors' telephones! VFA41_Lion Posted October 15, 2011 Author Posted October 15, 2011 Oh man. It'd be fantastic if we could get all those callsigns in. Or somehow make it so we can create, edit, and save callsigns. :D
