JAG Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) Hi guys, recently I switch from 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz to 8GB 1600Mhz and DCS Warthog, Rise of Flight and Battlefield 3 runs great, however I wonder If I add another 8GB will I notice a significant improvement or the actual ammount of memmory is enough and should invest that money in another hardware? Thanks in advance Edited October 31, 2011 by JAG Quick guide to configure ABRIS and LCD mini monitor Quick Countermeasure Editor v1.3.0 Core i5 3570K 4.0Ghz | GIGABYTE MOTHERBOARD | Crucial M4 120GB | 8GB DDR3 1600 MHZ | ASUS GTX 670 | AOC LED 23" | AOC LCD 24" | HYBRID DUAL THROTTLE (SAITEK THROTTLE QUADRANT + SUNCOM DUAL THROTTLE) | CH FIGHTERSTICK | SAITEK PRO PEDALS |
Haggart Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Other Hardware. 8GB should be sufficient. There's no "Overkill". There's only "open fire!" and "time to reload". Specs: i7-980@4,2Ghz, 12GB RAM, 2x GTX480, 1x 8800GTS, X-Fi HD, Cougar, Warthog, dcs-F16-pedals
Madman777 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I had 8GB, then upgraded to 16GB thinking RAM wont be cheap forever. Anyhow, I didn't notice any increase in performance, but I was able to run dozens of programs at the same time without any drop in performance. Well, with a little help from Sandy Bridge. I suggest SSD, or new CPU :-) i7-12700k, 32GB Ram, RTX 3060 12GB, TrackIR 5, Lots of SSD Space, etc etc DCS World - All the cool modules
MTFDarkEagle Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 You won't. Your better off upgrading your other hardware. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread

MTFDarkEagle Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 If I might give a suggestion: I think you'd be better of getting a faster CPU if DCS is the only thing you play/fly. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
JAG Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Yep a better processor should be great, I play many games and it will be great for rise of flight, because it makes use of 4 cores processors. Greetings Quick guide to configure ABRIS and LCD mini monitor Quick Countermeasure Editor v1.3.0 Core i5 3570K 4.0Ghz | GIGABYTE MOTHERBOARD | Crucial M4 120GB | 8GB DDR3 1600 MHZ | ASUS GTX 670 | AOC LED 23" | AOC LCD 24" | HYBRID DUAL THROTTLE (SAITEK THROTTLE QUADRANT + SUNCOM DUAL THROTTLE) | CH FIGHTERSTICK | SAITEK PRO PEDALS |
