Stuka Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Bought myself a pair of Lilliput 8" screens. Have them for the moment "fixed" behind my Cougar MFD's, till I come up with a decent build. Here's a little video that shows one of them in action. Video quality is not the best, but you get the idea. IRL, it's looking really nice. Windows 11 | i9 12900KF | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | TM MFDs + Lilliput 8" | TIR5 Pro
Mack Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 These are a nice idea and I like it. Practically speaking what sort of performance hit does it incur? I understand that the answer depends on the available overhead in the system, but general impressions or results from Fraps with and without or the like could help inform my decision to pursue something like this or leave well enough alone.
elchacal Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Excellent! I have got the Cougar MFD, and this screens are a good solution to complete an A-10 desktop cockpit.. Are them demanding too much video resources?? What kind of video board do you have? Thanks! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hassata Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 In and of themselves, the hit is minimal, particularly if you use 256 res and disable MFD display in the 3D pit. The hit comes from having to run in windowed mode (7-9 fps on my machine). To minimize that, make sure your run an aero theme in windows (this relates to DX optimizations on all windows iirc). Also you can try to run full-screen using sofTH. GregP is the expert on that. For me, the increase in immersion is well worth the hit. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
