BS2 will not install

I have the boxed version of BS and it was patched up to v1.02. I bought the BS2 patch but it will not install. I've tried (in order):

- uninstall v1.02, BS2 won' install

- perform fresh reinstall of v1.0, BS2 won't install

- patch v1.0 to v1.01C, BS2 won't install

 

In all cases I started a mission in each version because I read that could help. I also ran every install as administrator. I have Win7 64 bit and have had zero problems with BS up to now. It keeps saying "Black Shark must be installed".

I deactivated the game after the above. Reinstalled from the CD as administrator. Started a quick mission - it asked me to activate which I successfully did and flew around a little in V1.0.

 

BS2 patch still says "DSC BLACK SHARK MUST BE INSTALLED".

A fixed exe file is being worked on.

EDIT: opps never mind.. looks like you have done this already.. ignore me.

 

 

My understanding is for a workaround you need to have BS1 installed but NOT patched... you then need to activate BS1.. then install BS2 and it should work.

 

You can then patch BS1 if you want to carry on playing that version too or you can uninstalled BS1 once BS2 in activated and running.

Download the new files called bs2_upgrade-* instead of the first ones (bs2-patch-*). They are working now with 1.02 installed. No need to change anything.
