Thanks Yo-Yo. I was going crazy while figuring this out myself. Nice to see I wasn't seeing things after all. But I'm going to keep figuring it out anyway as it proves to be pretty interesting and educating stuff.

I think your explanation was good, but maybe using incorrect terms besides it.

 

To call it a placebo, or an impression, means that nothing was changed and people just 'feel' like something was.

 

But if I read you correctly, there was an actual change, that had the effect that he is seeing.
