Nobody96 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Hi Just a quick question. Have there been any changes to the damage model? I have the feeling that the damage done by some weapons has increased. I can kill a Abrahams with a single Vikhrs now, even if I hit him frontal. Also it is much easier to blow up stuff with the KOM rockets now. Also my shark has been completely disintegrated by a direct hit from a T-72 gun, whereas in BS-1.0.2 I always managed to eject at least. so long Mathias My System: Intel Core i7-4770K, Asus ROG Strix RX480 O8G, 24GB Ram
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 IIRC damage values for various weapons and units was looked over. Re the tank hit, it really depends where the round hits you. If he hits you dead on, you will disintegrate. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Jona33 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 The funniest times is when the tank blows the nose off and the rotors are intact and the back continues flying. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
kylania Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Tanks are indeed dangerous: Shell right to the APU = ouch. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie
Nobody96 Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Thanks for the info Nate. I was just wondering if the Vikhrs isn't slightly overpowered this way. I now regularly kill a MBT with just one of them. so long Mathias My System: Intel Core i7-4770K, Asus ROG Strix RX480 O8G, 24GB Ram
Nikeleye Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 The Vikhr is reported to have 1000mm of armour penetration (vs ERA included), the Abrams is reported to have between 600 - 800mm hull/turret armour, so it makes sense that if the weapon performs correctly a direct hit could cause a kill in the majority of cases.
WildBillKelsoe Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 It depends on your definition of killing a tank. I mean if the missile impacts and: one of two things, 1- The tank explodes immediately just like a light hummvee? 2- The tank ignites fire under the tracks and then kaboom. In BS1, #2 above happens alot with a vikhr on turret back/ drum set (I T-bagged your drumset! lol) In BS2, well, waiting input cuz I dont have it, now that the pilot corpse is gone..:mad::mad: 1 AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Bushmanni Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 It's possible to kill the pilot of a Ka-50 with 23mm gun now instead of needing a ATGM to do the job. In 1.02 I took a 10 second long continuous burst into the cockpit from Apaches gun and all it did was kill my engines and Shkval. Only instances where I saw the pilot getting killed was when hit by ATGM. Now in 1.10 a short burst from UPK to the cockpit killed the pilot.
