Supersheep Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Hi! Is the speedbrake sound (don't know if it was there before .10) really realistic? It is not a open/close sound, but gets louder the wider open they are. To me, it only sounds like a 55 gallon drum rolling down the street and not like a sound created by airflow. Opinions? Frostiken Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 It's the sound echoing through the airframe. You can't really hear that much sound from the outside through the pilot's helmet and canopy. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Wichid Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Yep it's the same roar you hear in a jumbo jet when they use speed brakes, so it must be close. Lyndiman AMD Ryzen 3600 / RTX 2070 Super / 32G Ram / Win10 / TrackIR 5 Pro / Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals
dok_rp Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 But that's not the sound of the Speed break per se, but actually the sound the turbulent air is producing when the SB is deployed.
Supersheep Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 So, I see, this effect is plausible. Great to know. :pilotfly: Supersheep The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread

Supersheep Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 sounds great Now that I know what causes it, I think it's all right, too. I was just kind of surprized as I first noticed it. Supersheep 1 The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
