DanKurt Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I did as asked and did a fresh install of BS 1.0.1 and then installed BS 2 and although the game is working fine without any problems as in FPS or CTDT's, it now takes up to 5mins to load into a mission and the same time once mission has ended or as usually happens, I get shot down. I have DCS A10-C on the same PC and it is loading up in a fraction of the time. I have de fraged and cleaned up registry so not sure what is causing the delays. So any ideas? My specs are: CPU= Intel I5 2500K (3.6ghz), 8GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 570, 500Gb 7200rpm HDD, 22" 1650 x 1024 monitor. Using TrackIR 5 and CH FS, CH PT and CH PP.
Dozer1606688093 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I have the same problem. BS2 is a more demanding game, so we just have to live with the longer loading times. [sIGPIC]http://imageshack.com/a/img202/730/vguserbarmask.gif[/sIGPIC]
DanKurt Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 I realise its more demanding than BS1 but its cpu load and graphics load are much the same as DCS A10-C so I would have expected similar load up times. Are other DCS BS2 players experiencing similar long load up times? I would be interested if other players would comment.
C6_Hellfrog Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 on i7-930 @4GHz + 6Go RAM + Win7x64 + raptor SATA3 : 6-7 sec loaging time for mission is average, some are shorter quit time 3-6 sec adding a 1024 Mo cache to the drive (FancyCache), you win 3 sec on second load and 2-3 sec on quit. will re test soon with 24 Go RAM and Ramdisk of BS2 install and larger cache...
agrasyuk Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 moving A10 from ordinary drive to SSD provided for nice load time decrease. standalone BS2 installed on same drive has comparable load times. it is not instant , but very very livable. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
DanKurt Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Hmmm, I'm begining to think I have to reinstall the game as I am waiting up to 5mins for a mission to load and 5mins for game to get back to game statistics menu, which doesn't seem right to me when it only takes 30 seconds to a minute for DCS A10 to load up missions.
JG14_Smil Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Hello, Have you tried the Crash RCVR option enabled? While I don't use this, it is really the fastest way back into your mission when training.
C6_Hellfrog Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 great amount of free ram and swap file on Ramdisk implies shorter times for loading, but you can't go below 3 sec to load a mission on my rig, it is CPU lmited I suppose : game launched from mapped Ramdisk, no swapfile (500Mo fixed, and less than 20% used), 8 Go still free physical RAM, (test with 24 Go total) i7-430 @ 4GHz, 24 Go RAM, Sata3 Raptor
