Guys quick q here.

I'm still soaking up ideas on how to make my pit... and was wondering how you are integrating radios in your pit.

I would like to know how you are displaying the Freqs? small monitor on the left console? knobs and switch were they should be but info displayed somewhere else? Anyone using VFD or something similar?

I guess same goes for the ILS and TCN display.

your thoughts ideas?

Just about everything has been done that you mention.

There's an Arduino-based approach being discussed over at MyCockpit for FSX http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php/22636-Arduino-COM-NAV-LED-display-FSX

Here's a totally DIY, micro controller based approach on my site: http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/oldnews/oldnews_2007.html (Scroll down to the March 22, 2007 entry.)

And another, DIY, but very realistic approach on Viperpits: http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php?topic=5082.0

Before launching on one also think about how you will integrate it into the simulator (I'm assuming you're doing DCS A-10C or Black Shark since you posted here). DCS does not have full output of the radio displays available so you will likely have to deal with your game and your pit radio head not being synced.

I have not looked at patch 10's LUA dumps yet to see if you can get at the actual 7 set displays yet. There is also the option of doing some simple OCR on regular monitor exports to "parse" the digits. If all else fails when I get to my radio panels I'll be implementing this in Helios.

DCS A-10C indeed it is. Sorry should have been more specific.. ;o)

I'm still at the pre-planning stage at this point, and I have a pretty good idea what to use, controller card is in the panel, I have a few panels don by Pitbuilder, still have to order a phidget for the leds, the switches and rotaries, knobs (deadman). I will be using Dimebugs plan. Helios with an LCD for the gauges.. I pretty much know where i'm going, excpet for the radio stacks....
