Gunnergolly Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Hello I was wondering what resolution do you guys use for the Shkval. I'm using 256 and i think it's ok. The reason i'm asking is because i have been searching for "Shkval footage" on utube as i'm curious about the real life video quality of this system. In your opinon what would be the most realistic resolution setting that i should use as i can't seem to find any "Shkval" footage....other then what has been produced by DCS BS. Cheers... Boberro Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 IIRC it is either ~ 250pixels or 320. I am not sure, but to get realism IMHO default should be between 256 and 512, but more to 256. You have Shkval (it seems so) in one choppa, don't know which one, but object in TV is not too good. I have found some in the past - few of them are just frames from video (available) and tank seems to be solid picture. Quality may be bad, but I don't think real quality is better much way. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
WildBillKelsoe Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 beware the wacky Chornaya Akula movie.. this movie was a true time waster. The cross-eyed pilot flying the shark, the same cutscenes for the shkval, hell, even that guy van damme!!! :megalol: Oh, I just figured back in 1993 when CG was primitive, and they used cheap effects, oh... The Russians..:P AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. wess24m Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I was wondering the same thing as the OP, I guess my eyes have been spoiled by the tgp on the a-10c :)
Gunnergolly Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) Im exporting to a second monitor Halios display, "256 resolution" looks fine, not the prettiest display but workable The reworking of the A-10C TGP display with the latest patch looks really good since i use WHOT most of the time and only using a Res of 256 is not really an issue......hopefully easier on my rig's resources too.. Thanks for posting the pictures Boberro and yeah i came across that daft utube clip of the bog eyed Black shark pilot whilst searching for Shkval footage !!.. 213 if you press RCTL+num pad 0 and then press num pad 2 this will zoom in to the Shkval/Abris display. Press RCTL+num pad 0 to return to normal cockpit view.
