GAJ52 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I was watching my wingman last night dropping CBU-97's on a group of 3 stationary tanks. With each attack he drops a pair of bombs, which is a bit of a waste. Is there any way I can make him only drop one, via the Mission Editor or elsewhere ? Eddie Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Nope, he's being sensible and dropping pairs to increase his Pk (probability of kill). You should learn from him. ;) But seriously, nothing you can do to change it. And although a pair of 97s are not really necessary for just 3 tanks, realeasing pairs or multiple ripples of unguided weapons is how it's done in reality. Of course we don't have to deal with fusing failures or other weapon faults and our weapons alway work.
jib Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 If you watch videos of bomber attack runs they will often release (what you or I would consider) lots of audinace. In real life It is more wastful to lose millions of pounds worth of palne and pilot getting shot down making another pass than it is to drop a pair of bombs (one could be a dud). GAJ52 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 Good point guys - I'm converted :smilewink: GAJ52 Intel i7-7700K @ 4.60GHz | 32 GB Ram | Win 10 Pro 64 | GTX 1080i 11.00MB | Saitek X52 Pro
Frogisis Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Same here, and I was wondering the same thing. I always thought, when I saw the ripple option, "Why would I ever want to do that?", but then I dropped 3 Mk82s on a convoy of trucks and utterly obliterated them in one pass, answering my question. For when it goes wrong: Win10x64, GTX1080, Intel i7 @3.5 GHz, 32GB DDR3, Warthog HOTAS, Saitek combat rudder pedals, TrackIR 5 / Vive Pro, a case of Pabst, The Funk
GGTharos Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 ^^^^ Now try 18 Mk82's vs a runway or airport with parked aircraft ... :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
