artimis Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hi, I am new to the forum so Hello to you all, A question, i have Windows XP Home Edition 32Bit infact i have always had this system and i read in a Review that DCS A10 Warthog will run on it if 32Bit is selected when starting the sim, so what difference does this make between 32 and 64Bit, i also read about editing the boot.ini for XP so this gives XP 3GB instead of the default 2GB is this because of having 32 Bit?, i am soory if this seems a silly question but i have never heard of this until taking an interest in the DCS A10. My specs are Pentium Dual Core CPU @3GHz and 4Gb Ram ,the graphics card is not that great but it copes with all my sims i use, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Roger. nemises Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hi Artmis, Similar setup to mine, and runs fine (although I use 64bit Win7 vs 32bit XP) Good luck!
cichlidfan Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Others here could explain the details better but I can almost guarentee that your machne will perform better all around if you upgrade nothing but the OS. For one thing you will be essentially doubling your available memory. EtherealN Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I'd say the only reason not to get yourself a cheap OEM license of Win7 would be if you intend to get yourself a new computer sometime in the immediate future.
