I went into the 104TS server today. I selected an SU27 and to my surprise I had R77's loaded that actually worked as well. My FC2 is totally un-moded so how can it be that On line I can get R77's ?

I thought that to do this I would need some mod installed ?

The server has its own default loadout which has R77 added to the Su-27 so you don't need to have anything moded on your end

PC specs:

Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

I am trying to get my head around how it works without me having to apply the mod that brings with it the R77 ?

I sort of understand that a Loadout mod is on the server that has R77's on SU27 but how does it work if I dont have a modded install ?

Su-27 exists unmodded

R-77 exists unmodded

FC2 systems are simple enough (vs DCS) not to need a "special" feature to launch A/A missiles from a plane :

- you got a radar

- you can lock a target

- you can launch a missile

=> That's enough.

No need to mod something, only to have a mission in which R-77 are loaded on your Su-27. Will work in single player too, with the said mission.

What you cannot do (without either modding your install or manually edit the mission files) is to load an R-77 on you Su-27 via the mission editor or the genuine rearm configs.

Well, you can load them also if you rearm using that same mission default load out :)

IvanK, how this works is basically in one of the lua files where all aircraft have defined which weapon can each pylon carry, is modified by text editing, to include R-77 for pylons on the Su-27. Then in mission editor you can create new custom load out and when selecting weapons, R-77 will show as available weapon... You pick it and save that loud out and set this payload as default payload for the flight/aircraft... If this is client aircraft when you select it in online mission your aircraft will be loaded with that custom load out. This is why you don't need anything modes on your end, but if you wanted to make some custom load out on you end you would need to edit this same lua file in your instal... I forgot what file it was, and I think this would affect online integrit check also so it would need to be disabled.
