remote Pc acces software ?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I was looking for a free software that I can control my home Pc when, well, I'm not at home :music_whistling:

I saw a couple on google, but was wondering if any of you had some kind of experience with that kind of program.

Thx

(could have been usefull to start my BS2 download while @work)

Do you think that getting 9 women pregnant will get you a baby in 1 month?

Honestly, I do not thrust these remote-control solutions like LogMeIn or TeamViewer. What I do not like is that traffic is routed (or re-routed) through software-company's servers. So your connection is not "PC->YourServer" but rather "PC->LogMeInServer/TeamVieverServer->YourServer". You can imagine yourself what security implications such a configuration has...

I prefer direct solution, like VNC (UltraVNC, TightVNC, etc). It gives you the same possibilities of remote-control without any intermediary.

Rhinox, I think you will find the actual remote session is peer to peer. Only the initial connection and interface for you client computers is done "online" with the website.

I used to use VNC however it doesnt work through proxys and its just not as easy as logmein
