Hey folks.

I wonder - what do YOU do in order to handle all the flags? I mean in a rather complex mission you probably have 20-70 different flags and they are just numbers... So how do you keep track of what flag is doing what?

Thanks in advance. :)

that and logically name your enemy/friendly groups with 3 digit numbers and name the flags after them

I.E.;

-Red Group North #1(R_Grp_N_101 abbreviated), can be the same name as Flag 101

-Red Group North #2 can be R_Grp_N_102 and flag 102

- you can use the first digit as a further description such as the "100" group is all on the North side of the map, the "200 group could all be on the East side, etc... or "112 is group of infantry in the north and 221 is a group of tanks in the east.

-and dont forget E=Mc2

I add digits to a number to mentally group flags together.

Flag 12. If further information needs to be related I then use,

Flag 120-129. Sometimes more is needed,

Flag 1200-1299, we must go deeper...

Flag 12000 - 12999. And so on.

Although it is sometimes easier to do it a little backwards. I used this for multiple select case statements within On Station.

Flag 11, 12, 13... Chose mission the mission types.

Flag 211, 212, 213... chose specific missions of type 2.

Flag 1210-1219 Dealt with anything related to mission ID 211. For 213 it would be 1230-1239.

Admittedly I only used 2 or 3 flags in the 1210-1219 range for each tasks, but it was worth having as it allowed me to experiment with the triggers while still allowing for an organized and clear identification of flags.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

If using a lot of flags, I keep track of them in an excel table.
