Night Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Hey guys, I love FC2, and everything works just great, except for one problem. About once an hour, Flaming Cliffs 2 will freeze and crash because Track IR forces it to look elsewhere too quickly. For example, if I pause Track IR, and turn it back on, it sometimes "jumps" and looks straight up and freezes on that frame. Also, if I stand up to leave for a minute, it also occasionally causes FC2 to crash. Nothing I do has fixed it and it's VERY VERY annoying to have it crash after flying for 20-40 minutes JUST before reaching a target. This never happens on any other sim, and it is not a problem with my track ir. It is definitely a FC2 issue, and since the dev team at ED really cares about their product (and not just money like most other game makers!) I think this is something you guys should look into! Thanks! Night Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Bump. I know ED is probably very busy with other things but I think this is an important issue that should be resolved. Is anyone else having this problem? Let me know! Kuky Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I don't think it's the sim fault because there are quite a few of us using TrackIR with these sims ad I've not seen one post someone saying TrackIR causes the sim to crash. Did you check you have latest version of the software and that TrackIR is updated with latest games? Also you could be having freeze due to other things, for example I've been having freeze every now and then also and only last week I found out it was SSD firmware issue, once I updated the firmware for both SSD I no longer have any such issues. PoleCat Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Kuky is giving solid advice IMO. Start there. Failing that it could be anything from simple to complex that maybe causing this issue including hardware, Bios, Bios settings, USB ports, Chipset drivers, video/sound drivers, directx and the list of possibilities goes on and on. Test hardware and update firmware, device drivers and software in all of these areas if possible. Best of luck in sorting the issue. Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
