Scoggs Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 If/when ED ever does an F/A-18E please enlist the support of VRS Simulations! They would be a great addition to the team! Their attention is staggering and would only improve the DCS product tenfold! Anywho... just my thoughts. digitaljjd Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 DCS is, as DCS does. That's all I have to say about that.
sobek Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 What would they need VRS for? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Demongornot Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Yeah another Super Hornet supporter :p !!! Sorry but i don't know why ED will need VRS Simulation... For me FSX its not a simulator, its just a "half realist game" the only one thing that ED can need from VRS its the 3D model of the Super Hornet for win a little time and don't have to do it but anyway ED make better than FSX models, the avionic are bad in FSX, the avionic are perfect in DCS and i'm not sure that the flight model of VRS is correct. But ED team can ask to community to create several 3D model of different variant of the F-16 and of the F/A-18C/D E/F. The best will be selected for new AI model and if the 3D model of the next aircraft is not do (but i think is already done) just take the best and rewrite it a little; we already have great F-15C/E (miss the D) model and no one will know if ED ask that what will be the next aircraft but VRS team don't have so many more to give to ED cause the VRS SuperBug its totally different of what the next DCS plane will be, Hornet or not... Phantom88 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I agree with the OP.John Blum of VRS has created one of the best representations of the SuperHornet for a MS Flight Simulation. The only problem is....It's FSX. His Input would enhance and speed up development if ED/TFC were to employ him. Patrick
JCook Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 What VRS has accomplished in FSX is truly amazing and with their new TacPack it will be even better. The biggest problem with the VRS SuperHornet is that it is FSX and is limited by that environment. I've got the FS9 and FSX versions of the plane and gave up on them when the DCS A10C came out - the last problem I had with the F18 was it wouldn't take off. Followed all the correct steps - but they have so many weird setup constraints to get that palne to work - when I want to fly a differenet FSX plane I mave to reconfigure everything. DCS A10 just works flawlessly. Having said all that the VRS FA18 programmers are very, very good and could contribute much to a DCS implmentation of the FA18.
