Inseckt Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 It is a point in the world where a unit will "anchor" or simply "stay". Help Beczl with his DCS MiG-21Bis project by Pre-Ordering DCS MiG-21Bis module NOW! CLICK HERE TO GO TO PRE-ORDER PAGE AT INDIEGOGO
Greygoose Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Its where you pause to review the situation.. usually before going into action. You might need to identify targets or threats, prepare your weapons for what your task is, call up support etc. You need your wingman to stay with you, so this is the instruction you give him.... when finished and ready to move on tell him... (or her) to rejoin. Great Sim.... so much to learn.... so little time Have fun Greygoose

Zenra Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Hi, what is Anchor point ? What is it for? I don't understand , can you help me ? :helpsmilie: Thanks !! If you are referring to the Anchor point set in the CDU and displayed on the TAD then you are talking about the Bullseye point set for the mission. This is a reference point used by all members of a coalition during a mission to identify locations without revealing their own location to the enemy. For example, AWACS will call out enemy positions relative to "Bulls" rather that to himself. If you are referring to telling a wingman to "anchor" someplace then it is as the other posters described.
