Hi all

Just recieved my TrackIr 5 and having some problems setting it up, cant seem to find a setting I'm happy with. Could anyone please post their profile setups so I could try them out.

Many thanks

I'd recommend flattening the curve in all axes except tilt (forget which one that is). Default curves have a giant "black hole" right at center that your POV keeps getting sucked into... very annoying, and even more annoying when you are trying to use a helmet mounted sighting device. You want to make sure that precision mode is off, and that smoothing is at a low value- otherwise, there is an annoying lag in response. You need to increase sensitivity till you can turn your virtual head all the way around and check your six without impairing your ability to see the computer monitor. There are two ways to increase sensitivity; one is to bring up the level of all the curves. The second way to adjust the sensitivity slider (which is right beside the smoothing slider).

I find the above settings to my liking. One you have these settings adjustments made, you need bind the Track IR center button to your HOTAS- you will need to adjust the center point of track IR somewhat frequently to avoid neck pain. Some people also find the track IR freeze button highly useful.

That profile is the same a the 'Default' profile shipped with TIR 5.

I find that it is a very individual thing. I have been playing with my profile for another sim lately and it can be quite time consuming to get things just right. The first step is getting a clear picture in your mind of what the various changes will do. Once you really get a handle on that it is a bit easier.

lol, didn't know that, did the default change since Matt posted this? I've been using it since that time.

I have no idea which came first. Someone else pointed it out. When I got TIR I just started using Matt's profile figuring it was a good starting point. I found out later that they were the same.;)
