Nascar Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Anybody think I could use a 6 foot satellite dish as a sphere for an idome like setup? Have any better alternatives? I'm looking at the six foot because my ceiling height is about 6'7". idome: http://paulbourke.net/miscellaneous/domemirror/iDomePosterA1.pdf Satellite dish: http://www.galaxy-marketing.com/ws1870-6-foot-180cmts-prime-focus-c-band-satellite-dish.htm or http://ftabonus.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=88 Thermaltake Core P90 Tempered Glass//Thermaltake iRGB Plus 1200W//GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS MASTER LGA 1151//i9-9900K//Thermaltake CL420 Copper Radiator//Thermaltake W4 Plus//Thermaltake 140mm Radiator Fan Triple Pack//Samsung 1TB 970 EVO NVMe M2//SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 500GB //CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 64GB 3200//GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2080 TI//Logitech G940//Virpil MT50 Throttle//MFG Crosswind rudder pedals//Geko GSeat//Gametrix Jetseat//Htc Vive//Pimax 5k+//Viril VFX//Razer Nari Ultimate
BHawthorne Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 The depth of the dish is not deep enough. That's why it's called a dish and not a dome. ;) 1
Nascar Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Well looking at your set up, i'll take your word for it. I've cooled on the idea anyway after playing on my projector for so long and then seeing how it looks on my monitor. The monitor has a lot better detail. What kind fps do you get?
