genbrien Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) ***Do it at your own risk*** I did it and there was no problem! Very easy to do I didnt noticed any major gain for now with BS2, but it might help others In short, here is the better method from sky60234:- - Go to Regedit - Find this key:- " 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 " - Within this key, there is a value called: " ValueMax " - This value represents the % number of cores the system will park - the default 100% ie: all Cores are potentially park-able - Change the value from 64 to 0 so the " ValueMin " and " ValueMax " are both zero - You will have to find the key a few times and repeat the process for each time it is found - the number of instances will depend on the number of power profiles in your system [ in my DAW it was only found twice ] - Do a full shutdown and power-off and cold-re-start http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=1861804 Edited January 28, 2012 by genbrien Do you think that getting 9 women pregnant will get you a baby in 1 month?[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Mobo: Asus P8P67 deluxe Monitor: Lg 22'' 1920*1080 CPU: i7 2600k@ 4.8Ghz +Zalman CNPS9900 max Keyboard: Logitech G15 GPU:GTX 980 Strix Mouse: Sidewinder X8 PSU: Corsair TX750w Gaming Devices: Saytek X52, TrackIr5 RAM: Mushkin 2x4gb ddr3 9-9-9-24 @1600mhz Case: 690 SSD: Intel X25m 80gb

Kuky Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I have HT turned off in BIOS also as I see no benefor from it being ON. Although in aplications that are multithreaded there will be increase in performance with HT on, in DCS there is absolutely no deferrence running it with HT on or off... so reason I have it off is because when overclocking system is more stable with HT off. genbrien Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 maybe it's only for the older I7, cause my 2600k is overclocked with HT ON and I have no stutters at all and stays pretty cool.
