the default FOV using a TrackIR and having the zoom all the way out looks like I am set to far back, when I look back it's like I am sitting in the front of the cockpit. I like having the full range of zoom using an axis mapped to it but the zoom out is too far back from where I would be sitting. I see you can adjust the pilot position back and forwards, would that help?

If I understand you correctly, you want to be able to prevent the zoom from going back as far as it does currently.

That can be altered by editing View.lua in C:\Games\DCS A-10C\Config\View.

Find this line around line 118.

CameraViewAngleLimits[A_10A] = {20.0, 140.0}

The second number is the max FOV. Change as desired.

Changing the first to something like 5 or 6 will give you something close to binocular zoom magnification (more or less).

Hope that is what you were after.

It looks like what I need to do is move the pilot head position in the cockpit back.

The default head position has you sitting way forward up on the dashboard, if you look backwards it looks like you are sitting up in the front of the cockpit, you should be looking at your headrest.

I see how to move the position in the settings but the game won't save the position. Theres a command "save cockpit angles" RAlt+Num0

but it doesn't save that view
