WildBillKelsoe Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hello, The other day, I was flying at temp of -3C degrees, and it came to my head to pop this question: 1- If I am prompted to turn on the rotor anti-ice, the engine de-ice switches on the overhead, do I get more chance of being locked on? Is thermal modelled in game? 2- I noticed the laser guidance mode lamp never lights up. Normally, per the manual, the lock is the upper lamp, and when the missile is on the launch frequency or modulation (blah blah blah), the lower lamp should fire up. If it is working, what are the threats implemented to light this bulb? I do think ATGMs do trigger it because the tank turret (per BF3 has this laser designator perk), but it is not implemented in game.. Or is it a laser guided shell?? AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Bushmanni Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 2. I think you are talking about the LWR ranging and guidance indicator lamps? They tell if the laser energy detected is ranging or guidance type which in turn is indicative about what kind of ordnance is coming your way. AT-11 is a laser beam rider which should turn on the guidance light but I don't ever remember seeing it light up when I have been shot down by one. At least Hellfires used to light up the guidance light in previous versions, haven't checked how it is in 1.1.1.1.
